Hi! I’d like to take the opportunity here in the first post to share where we will be going and to give you an idea of the kinds of adventures you can expect.
There are a lot of topics that I am interested in and a lot of ground I want to cover. Just to give you a teaser, some of the ideas I want to explore include:
- Fire Ecology
- Endangered Flora and Fauna
- Forest Dynamics
- Invasive Species
- Historical Events
- Compelling Stories
We will mainly focus on the Appalachian Region, but will occasionally look beyond for broader context. My hope is to include some interesting science, eventually maybe interview some interesting people, but mainly to tell engaging stories.
Whether you live or work in Appalachia, hike the Appalachian Trail, drive through the winding roads along the Blue Ridge, or just want to learn a little about ecology around us, I hope you’ll stick around.
