Since 2017, I have worked in National Forests across the eastern US conducting forest surveys. Through this time, I have developed a stronger appreciation for the forests I spent my youth exploring and I now seek ways to aid conservation efforts while helping others to do the same.
Growing up near Atlanta, Georgia, my interest in the outdoors began on early hikes with my Dad and brother that eventually transitioned into overnight and weekend treks through North Georgia and the Smoky Mountains.
Over time I developed an interest in conservation and found myself flying to South America and Australia where I took part in several conservation projects and organizations. Later, I decided to further develop my knowledge in conservation and eventually earned a Master in Forest Ecosystem Science from the University of Melbourne in Australia.
With this blog I want to share some of the unique insights I have gained during my time as a forester and offer my perspective for those who also have an interest in forest conservation.
